5 Skin Care Tips During the Cold Season

by: Jeric Danao

The best moisturizer review in the Philippines or anywhere else in the world would include not only the details about the ingredients used in the making of the products but also the kind of weather or season they are best suited for.

These details are important to add and discuss in a review of a certain beauty product because they would be the telling factors whether customers should purchase them in the first place. Furthermore, there are certain guidelines that should be followed when it comes to taking care of your skin during the hot or cold months.

Here is how you take care of your skin during the cold season.

1. Use Lukewarm Water

Using hot water when showering or bathing is always nice to do especially during the cold season however doing so may actually strip the natural oils in your skin that should keep it moisturized.

Dr. Frank Lipman, along with other skin experts everywhere, recommends using lukewarm water when you are just washing your hands or face to make sure they do not become completely dried up.

2. Moisturize Carefully and Properly

There are several moisturizers in the market that you can buy but not all of them would be good for your skin when you use them during the colder months, so make sure that you carefully sort them out and purchase the one that is good for your skin type at this time of the year.

After purchasing the right moisturizer for you, always be sure to immediately use them after you take a bath or a shower. Remember that you have to apply it while your skin is still slightly damp so that it can absorb the moisture in your body.

3. Drink Lots of Water

Hydrating your skin from the inside is just as important as using moisturizers on your skin from the outside, which is why it is important for you to keep drinking water even when you feel like you do not need a drink because you are not sweating a lot.

Instead of drinking hot chocolates and hot teas, you may want to consider replacing them with a warm lemon water that will surely sooth your throat, warm your body’s temperature, as well as hydrate your skin properly.

4. Exfoliate!

Dead skin cells have a tendency to block off your pores, making it impossible for moisture to come in, so be sure to exfoliate at least once or twice every week to get rid of this pesky stuff on your body.

You can use an exfoliating mask specifically for your face. There are also many body washes that will help you exfoliate during the cold season.

5. DIY Masks

Get busy and create your own homemade masks that will surely add moisture to your skin during the cold months. You can use ingredients like aloe, bananas, almond oil, jojoba and olive oils, yogurt, avocado, and honey to make the masks. Combine them all together and apply it on your skin for about 30 minutes so you can get lasting hydration.

Follow these tips and you won’t have to worry about having dry skin during the cold season!
