by: Jeric Danao

During a long day in the office, there are times that you may become tired and unproductive, which may result to you not finishing some important work. There are also times that you may need a change of scenery, and work away from the office. There are many places that you can work outside of the office, like coffee shops and coworking spaces. For more suggestions on where to work outside of the office, here is a list of places to choose from.

1. Libraries

If you want some peace and quiet, very few places can offer what a library has. The calm and quiet atmosphere is great for productivity, and helps your mind concentrate which can make you work efficiently. It also helps that most libraries have Wi-Fi. Other than being a great place to work in, the library also gives you access to books and magazines that you can read after finishing work, which make your creativity work.

2. Coworking Spaces

Shared office spaces are becoming more abundant recently, and are also becoming one of the most popular places to work in. Coworking spaces offer amenities that regular offices offer, such as Wi-Fi, conference rooms, bathrooms, kitchens and pantries, and equipment like printers and photocopy machines. Coworking spaces also surround you with people who are also working, which can also help motivate and inspire you.

3. Coffee Shop

One of the most popular places in which people work outside their office, coffee shops offer the comfort, along with some delicious pastries and quality coffee. Coffee shops offer some cozy seating, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, an inviting ambience, and drinks that can pump up your creative juices. Coffee shops are quite abundant as well, so there is no shortage of places where you can get good coffee and a comfortable environment.

4. Bars and Pubs

Although it may not be one of the first places that comes to mind when it comes to looking for places where you can work outside the office. But some bars and pubs offer the perfect atmosphere for you to work in. Bars and pubs are great places to work thanks to the calm atmosphere, along with a great selection of food and drinks you can choose from.

5. College Campuses

Sometimes, going back to school is a great choice. Going back and doing your work in the campus where you once finished your studies not only brings back some of your fondest memories when you were younger, but it also gives you a quiet and calm place where you can be productive. Some college campuses also offer beautiful sights, with the occasional hustle and bustle of students and professors.

Key Takeaway

Working outside the office offers you a change of scenery, along with various amenities that make it feel comfortable. Working in different places may also help inspire you, and spark your productivity, which can improve the quality of your work. If you are having another dull day in the office, you can look into these places, and have a quality time doing work.

4 Reasons To Quit Your Job And Start Living Off Grid

by: Jeric Danao

Have you ever felt stuck in life and in a cycle of working just to pay bills? Off grid living may just be the solution to this problem. Here are 4 reasons why you should quit your job and start living off grid.

Be Your Own Boss

Even when you have reached the top of the corporate ladder and become the CEO of your own company, you will find that stress also climbs the ladder with you. You could end up having more responsibilities than you can control. This is not how you can be your own boss. Being your own boss means being able to live the way you want to; spending time with friends and family and going on vacation whenever you want to.

This is dream for many people stuck in the working class. But that is because they are tied down by the idea that they need money in order to live. The off-grid lifestyle has proven otherwise and many people have shown that it’s feasible. Chat with one of these brave individuals to ask them how they do it.

Debt Free Life

Debt is the biggest monkey that you have or could have on your back. You will find that it will force you to work for hours just to survive but not to live. People end up in endless cycles of paying rent and just getting by. This rent only gets larger as your needs become more dire, especially if you are taking care of a growing family.

However, you can avoid this if you can build a house that can run off the grid on a land that you own. There will be no debts to pay because no landlord can impose rent on you. All the money you earn could go to your passions and helping your family with their needs.

No Bills

While maintaining a good full-time job can pay the bills, do you really need to define your life by working just to pay bills until it’s time to retire? The reality is most jobs are like this and only a few find jobs that they truly enjoy. But the only problem is that electricity, housing, water, fuel and other needs are all provided by companies that you need to pay in order to get these needs.

There are alternatives to paying a company to provide these for you. Off the grid techniques include having a private source of water, disposing your own waste, and using solar panels and wind mills. All of these can help you to live without being tied down to paying companies monthly.

Sharpen Your Skills

While off the grid living may insinuate that you don’t need money anymore, this is not true; you still need to earn some to sustain yourself and your family. You don’t have to aim for a big income since your expenses will be very low.

Thus, you don’t need to have a job. In fact, you can earn just enough from your hobbies. This could be anything from busking to creating paintings and sculptures. Whatever it is, turn it into a living. Not only will be enough to get by, but you get to hone your skills in your passions.

Key Takeaway

The off the grid life means that you can cut your expenses such as debts and rent. Because of this you no longer need to be tied down to a job just to pay for bills and get stuck in that style. You can choose to stay at your job while living off the grid so that all the money you earn can go to your passions or quit your job and turn your passions into your means of life. Off the grid life gives you more time to do what you really want to do and spend your time more meaningfully.
