Stephen Curry and Oscar Winner Jamie Foxx Join Forces in New Under Armour Basketball Campaign for the Curry Two

Philippines, 30 October 2015 – Global high-performance sports leader Under Armour, U.S. National Basketball Association (NBA) superstar Stephen Curry and actor Jamie Foxx team up again in a new campaign to launch the highly acclaimed Curry Two shoe from Under Armour. The first basketball shoe to feature a full-length Charged Cushioning midsole unit and a UA SpeedForm seamless upper, the Curry Two was first unveiled by Curry during his tour of Asia on the Under Armour Road Show on September 6 in Shanghai, China, and will be available at retail globally on 24 October 2015.

The new spot, created by award-winning agency Droga5 and entitled “Flash,” illuminates Curry’s unparalleled skill set, which continues to transform the game of basketball. Foxx provides a narrative that questions, “How long does it take to change the game of basketball?” The emphatic response is, “.4 seconds,” which is the amount of time it takes for Curry to release a shot, the fastest ever measured. Amidst explosions of light, sparks and smoke, Curry unleashes an array of moves in an explosive sequence, as Foxx narrates his journey to the top and his lasting effect on the sport.

The spot features the “Iron Sharpens Iron” Curry Two, the lead colourway of Stephen’s second signature shoe. Inspired by Stephen’s relentless commitment and dedication to make his teammates better through his play and leadership, the “Iron Sharpens Iron” Curry Two features a grey upper with a back layer of yellow that pops through perforated patterning, as well as a midsole with orange to yellow fade that incorporates detailed speckles to represent the forging of metal. Stephen’s motto, “Make My Teammates Better,” serves as the foundation for how Stephen mentally approaches the game of basketball. His strength and fortitude serves as a source of strength for his teammates and the team.Additional colourways of the Curry Two will release throughout the season.

Charged Cushioning® System

The full-length Charged Cushioning unit in the midsole absorbs impact and converts it into a responsive burst to enhance Stephen’s first-step and change of direction.

UA SpeedForm® Technology

The UA SpeedForm Technology upper moulds precisely to Stephen’s foot, providing free range of motion and strategic stability so he can stop and go, cut and change speed without restrictions. The perforated engineering in the UA SpeedForm keeps the Curry Two lightweight with durable breathability.

Locked in Stability & Control Technology

The Curry Two’s external heel counter also locks in the foot and eliminates sliding for a secure fit. The rubber outsole with an organic herringbone traction pattern offers supreme underfoot control and multi-directional grip of the court. McHappy Day Stripes Run 2015: Run for a Cause with the Whole Family in Davao and Metro Manila

Running for fun is guaranteed to make people feel good. Imagine how much better it would feel to know that running can also help Filipino kids in need learn how to read!

At McDonald’s, families can have fun and help other families at the same time through the McHappy Day Stripes Run. This year’s McHappy Day is bigger than ever as it brings the Stripes Run in two key local cities: People’s Park, Davao City on November 28 and in BGC, Taguig City on December 5.

Registration is now open! To join, simply fill-up the registration form available at select McDonald’s stores and online via mchappyday.com.ph, settle the registration fee, and claim the race kit right after.

Each race kit includes a McHappy Day shirt, McDonald’s red and white striped socks, stub for a free McDonald’s breakfast meal at the venue, and a race bib.

First Ever Gatorade Run Marks Debut on November 22

Manila, Philippines – The world’s number one sports drink is finally making its debut in the country’s fast growing running circuit with the launch of the first ever Gatorade Run.

The run will happen on November 22 at the Seaside Boulevard at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City. There will be two distances—11 and 22 kilometers gun-starting at 5:00 and 4:00 AM respectively. Race fee is P1,100 for 11K participants and P1,500 for their 22K counterparts. The pre-race kit will include an Adidas race tee, a race bib and a timing chip. Another Adidas shirt, this time a finishers tee, will also await all finishers.

“The Gatorade Run will cap off what has been a historic year for us,” Pepsico Philippines Marketing Manager for Hydration Tony Atayde said. “We just celebrated our 50th birthday; we recently beefed up our line-up with a new variant called White Lightning and welcomed a powerhouse cast of ambassadors; and now, we’re launching the first ever run powered by Gatorade.”

Atayde added, “As a global leader in sports performance, runners can expect that Gatorade will bring its sports science expertise to the fore. More than just a run, this milestone event is a platform for us to reinforce our message of proper hydration.”

The Gatorade Run will feature a hydration station where participants can get pre-race hydration drinks, a post-run hydration test area where they can instantly learn about their hydration status, and a warm-up area where free sessions will be available for those who want a full-on warm up activity before the run.

Registered participants can start claiming their kits on November 16 until November 19 from 12:00 NN to 8:00 PM at their chosen store and schedule upon registration.
